As the year suggests, the vest has its historical origin in the 19th century. At that time, vests were worn to protect shirts from dirt and damage. Therefore, west were cut like waisted, so as to minimize the risk of hanging on edges or the like.
As a fabric for our “Dundee gray” Edition, Pike used herringbone tweed.
