The US Navy CPO Shirt – a classic outdoor shirt.

Life on deck was and is a rough business. Therefore, the clothing had to be specially designed for wind and weather. Over the decades, certain materials and passport shapes have been developed in the shipping industry.
The 1943 CPO Shirt is one of those garments that have emerged from the US Navy. Originally developed in the 1930s, the cut and the material has changed only slightly over the decades. We chose the authentic 40s cut for our version.
Good freedom of movement and 2 large breast pockets characterize this shirt.
Originally made of a heavy wool fabric, we have decided in this version for a German moleskin. Moleskin, also called English leather, is a heavy one-side brushed cotton sateen. It is a typical workwear fabric because it is very durable. The warp is usually made from twisted heavy yarn while the weft is made from a softer yarn. After weaving, the left side of the fabric is brushed, giving it a soft touch reminiscent of suede.

The following details characterize our 1943 CPO shirt:

-100% cotton
– Authentic cut of the 40s
– Anchor buttons
– Made in Portugal
